Before Viet Nam was open to mass international tourism, we traveled there to discover its treasures prior to their loss. Such beauty is difficult to describe, but we found an artisan shop that specialized in painting Modigliani-like images of Hmong village brides, and the tradition was that the whole village would participate in creating the ceremonial outfit. Sorry we can't name each artist as they wouldn't divulge the list, but appreciate them for the fresh and modern take on these antique traditions. Framed - the portrait is 16" x 12" and the total framed dimensions are 24" x 19". |
